The 2016/17 European Rugby Challenge Cup campaign for the Newcastle Falcons will be kick starting with an away match at the Liberty Stadium in Swansea. The match is scheduled to take place on October 14th and is opening a way to Ospreys. They will then return home to Kingston Park to meet Grenoble on 23rd October, a week later.
The kick off at the Liberty Stadium is at 19:05 and the kick off at home for the Newcastle Falcons is at 15:00 on 23 October. The back to back December matches will see Falcosn face Lyon on consecutive weekends and the matches are slated for 9th December and the subsequent weekend. The Falcons will be traveling to the Mamut Stadium in France in December followed by a return leg at the Kingston Park that will kick off on 18 December at 15:00.
The director of Rugby for Newcastle Falcons said that the team always enjoys the European Rugby Challenge Cup and are excited to enjoy the European exposure. There are many players in the team looking forward to the European Cup. He acknowledged that playing in France is not that easy, but his players are up for it. Lyon and Grenoble are really testing conditions for the Falcons, but his team will be prepared for the tough road trip.
Richards has spent some time in Grenoble over a decade ago. It is one of the greatest parts of the world and it is sure that Falcons supporters will be coming out in numbers to support their team. They will love what Grenoble has to offer. Also, the Falcons will be facing tough opposition in both Lyon and Ospreys and fans will get to watch some exciting rugby from both the teams.
