Kieran Brookes, the prop for the Aviva Premiership Rugby Football Union club the Leicester Tigers has re-signed with former club the Newcastle Falcons that is currently leading the table in the Rugby Football Union Championship and are looking favorites to return to the Aviva Premiership after just one season away. The Falcons has signed their former star on a dual registration deal with The Tigers in an agreement that will run till the end of the season.
The 22 year old has had a torrid time with the record winners of the Aviva Premiership, being constantly plagued by injuries and he returns to the club where he started his professional career to jump start his career once again and rediscover the form that sparked interest among the biggest clubs of the Premiership before the Leicester Tigers signed him. Brookes, who is an international for the England Saxons stated that he was extremely pleased to be heading back to the Newcastle Falcons, to the place where it all began for him.
He also mentioned that he cannot wait to get back into the fold and start playing rugby on a regular basis once again. Brookes left the Newcastle side during the summer of 2011 after some stunning displays for the side which earned him the reputation as an extremely aggressive tight head but he suffered a horrendous injury that ended his first season with the Leicester Tigers prematurely. And since then, the performance of the other tight heads in the team has limited him to just appearances in the Premiership for The Tigers.
And Brookes, who rejoins a much changed Newcastle Falcons side will be hoping that they will be able to give him first team rugby that he had been dying for since that career threatening injury with The Tigers.
