Greg Goosen, the full back for the RFU Championship side the Newcastle Falcons has finally completed his loan move to the French side Agen, making his competitive debut for the side as well.
The 29 year old came on as a substitute in the 67th minute for his new club as the side won by a margin of 32-26 at home against Grenoble, registering their first win of the season to life themselves off the foot of the table after a winless start till then had seen them languish at the bottom.
However, the Kingston Park side is yet to announce the official completion of the deal. Talks between the Newcastle Falcons and Agen regarding the player’s loan move began a long time back but there had been a breakdown in negotiations due to the contractual wrangling. The South African star joins Ewan Murray, another player on the roster of The Falcons plying his trade with Agen on loan, although he was not part of the side that got the better of Grenoble last weekend.
Meanwhile, the Newcastle on Tyne side is looking at Semesa Rokoduguni, the wing for the British Army, who is currently on a two week long trial period at Kingston Park. The Rugby Sevens star is looking to impress the bosses at Kingston Park as they try to woo the Fijian with the world class facilities that they have in store for him if he completes his switch to the side to aid their promotion push.
John Voss, the manager of the British Army Sevens team has stated that Newcastle Falcons are one of the sides that have registered an interest in the player, which is justified, considering the fact that he has been in a rich vein of form and has scored plenty of tries for the side.
